Today, chef Nancy Russman, culinary instructor at Jefferson Community and Technical College, will demonstrate easy recipes using the fresh ingredients from the vendors at the Smoketown-Shelby Park farmers' market -- and give out free samples -- from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Meyzeek Middle School, 828 S. Jackson St.
This week, the market, under the canopy behind the school, will
see the return of the produce and meats of Ralph and Kathy Packard of
Misty Meadows Farm in Payneville, Ky. Pasture-raised pork and goat meat
will be available, as well as rabbits from Duncan Rabbit Ranch, in
Boston, Ky., and produce from other vendors.
The market is accessible from Breckenridge and Preston streets, with the entrances marked with signs and balloons.
