The GNA is a new nationwide effort to build up a netroots and grassroots army of millions of radical but practical-minded voters and activists.

GNA sees itself as complementary, yet also an alternative, to MoveOn.org and other pre-existing progressive, radical, and libertarian online networks.

GNA believes that America's life or death, multi-faceted Crisis demands that we move beyond single-issue campaigns and limited focus activism to a radical but practical multi-issue platform that stimulates local alliance building and grassroots action, focused on pressuring the politicians, and pushing through legislation that can move us out of the Crisis.

GNA's first major project is a comprehensive 2008 Candidate Survey, which we are asking you to send to all your elected representatives and candidates for office at the local, county, state and federal levels.

We need your help to press the nation's 172,000 local, state, and federal elected officials and candidates for office to take a pro-active stand on the burning issues:

  • Get Out of Iraq

  • Stop Global Warming and Green the Economy

  • Repeal the Patriot Act and
    Restore Constitutional Liberties

  • Implement Universal Health Care, Economic Justice,
    Election and Media Reform, Civil Rights,
    Corporate Accountability, Drug Policy Reform

If we press each candidate for office or member of Congress with 5,000 letters from constituents, each state legislator with 500 letters, and each city council or county rep with 100 letters, we can reach the tipping point where netroots pressure can become grassroots power.
